CNA Week: Meet Jermaine Bennett

In honor of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Week, we’ll be highlighting a new CNA throughout the week! Today, meet Jermaine Bennett, a CNA working primarily on Magee’s fourth floor Brain Injury Unit.

Tell us a little about your background.

I’m very family-oriented.  I absolutely love spending time with my family and friends and just enjoy life.  I also love GOD.  Even through my roughest and toughest days I am extremely grateful and thankful to be able to work on the goals I set for myself and be successful in this life!

Why did you decide to become a CNA?

I feel like we all have a purpose in life.  I feel like my purpose is to help people. Why? Because I’m great at it. I also have a goal in life to be inspired by something and/or someone each day.  So, why did I become a CNA?  Because I’m inspired by the work and the people that I help each day and I knew that I would be great at it.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is knowing that I’m fulfilling my purpose.  I love being able to see the smiles on  patients and family members I  help each day.  Despite going through turmoil, our patients stay motivated and  push through obstacles they encounter. The love and support they receive from family, friends and staff is inspiring!

What are some of your passions outside of your job?

I am passionate about what I love and I live life to it’s fullest capacity.  Being a great dad is something I am very passionate about.  My daughter means the world to me and one of my biggest goals in life is to be a great role model and inspiration to her.
