Hours of service

Magee nursing and physician services are provided 24 hours per day. Inpatient therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, recreation therapy and psychology are scheduled between the hours of 9:00 and noon, and 1:00 and 5:00. Some therapies may be scheduled outside of this time if there is a specific goal to be accomplished that is more appropriately addressed during bathing, grooming or meal time. Every inpatient receives, at a minimum, 15 hours of therapy service per week.

Days of service

As above, nursing and physician services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Therapy services are also available 7 days per week, with the therapy schedule for each patient determined by their individual needs. Each patient will receive therapy five days per week, at a minimum. Additional therapeutic and recreational activities are available daily, outside of the formal therapy schedule.

Intended discharge environments

Return to community living is the goal for Magee admissions. The majority of patients discharged from Magee inpatient services go directly to a home setting. When that is not possible, the Magee team assists in identifying the appropriate next setting, such as a subacute or skilled nursing facility, or another level of inpatient care such as a long term acute care hospital.

Funding sources

Magee accepts most insurances, and will negotiate with any that are not presently on contract.
