Magee Rehabilitation Hospital’s Cheryl A. Kettinger, MA and Jeanne Doherty, MD have been selected to present at the 8th Annual Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association (AMRPA) Educational Conference in New Orleans October 13-15.

The topic of the presentation will be Length of Stay: Justifying and Appealing Extended Stays.

Ms. Kettinger and Dr. Doherty will be discussing how Magee—through education, self-audit and improved documentation—received a 100% approval rate in a 2009 Medicare Probe audit regarding Length of Stay. The audit was conducted by Highmark Medicare Services.

The AMRPA’s Educational Conference-which attracts over 300 attendees a year—provides rehabilitation hospitals with opportunities to promote their products, showcase their services, share their message, and increase their visibility. The goal of the conference is to provide access to educational programs that can increase productivity and facilitate better care for the patients of medical rehabilitation facilities throughout the United States…all while offering several opportunities for attendees to network and socialize.

For its members, AMRPA represents and advocates inpatient facilities to Congress and the Administration, informs members of policy, legislative, and regulatory issues affecting medical rehabilitation providers, provides education and participation opportunities through conferences and educational seminars, and researches, develops, and distributes tool kits to assist members with key issues.
