Magee Rehabilitation will celebrate its Seventh Annual Night of Champions on Friday, May 11, 6-10 p.m. Local celebrities from the Philadelphia sports world will participate in the event, which will be held at the Sheet Metal Workers Union Hall on 1301 South Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, Pa. Magee's Night of Champions includes dinner, raffle prizes and auctions of autographed sports memorabilia, exclusive gifts, restaurant certificates, getaway weekends, and travel packages. All funds benefit the Hospital's Community Program Fund.

The star-studded affair will feature celebrities such as NBA Hall-of-Famer Billy Cunningham, boxing legend Smokin' Joe Frazier, Philadelphia Eagles coaches John Harbaugh and Juan Castillo, and Temple University men's basketball coach Fran Dunphy. Comedian Joe Conklin will also give a brief performance as part of the festivities.

Dr. Bob Carr, Vice President and Medical Director of Employee Health Management at GlaxoSmithKline, will receive the 2007 Magee Champion in the Community Award. The award is presented annually to a community leader who supports and advocates for individuals with disabilities. Dr. Carr, who is former member of the Hospital's Board of Trustees and a past chairman of the President's Council, is a generous supporter of Magee's patients and programs,

Magee's Community Program Fund was created to support programs at the Hospital that help former Magee patients and those in the community improve their quality of lives.

Individual tickets for the Night of Champions cost $125, with many group sponsorship packages available. Chaddsford Winery will host a wine tasting VIP reception an hour before the event to benefit Magee. IBEW Local No. 98 and GlaxoSmithKline are the title sponsors for this year's Night of Champions.
