12/23/2007 - Pat Croce to Attend Magee Rehabilitation Holiday Party for Patients
Magee Rehabilitation Hospital will again brighten the season for its patients and their families with a festive Holiday Party. The Holiday Party for Patients, a long-held tradition at Magee, will take place on Sunday, December 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Hospital, located at 16th and Races Streets in center-city Philadelphia.

12/18/2007 - World Renowned Singer, Tonia Tecce, to Perform at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital
On Tuesday, December 18, world renowned Soprano, Tonia Tecce will be performing for patients and staff at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. Accompanied by pianist Richard Raub, Tecce's performance will be held in the second floor conference room at 6:00 pm.

It may be the season of good will, but make no mistake about it, the teams competing in the 6th Annual Dan Sullivan Wheelchair Basketball Tournament are coming to town to win.

Separately, the Philadelphia Chapter of the Buoniconti Fund - an organization devoted to curing paralysis - and Magee Rehabilitation Hospital have been invaluable in improving the quality of life of Philadelphians with disabilities. And they are joining forces.

10/16/2007 - Gun Violence Survivors Walk to Get Guns Off Streets
At noon on Tuesday, October 16, survivors of gunfire violence who were treated at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital - some of which are now wheelchair users - will make their way from the Hospital (16th and Race) to the State Office Building (Broad and Spring Garden) to rally against illegal handguns being on the streets.

In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell hears many pleas for money from various groups and organizations. But on Friday, September 28 at 7:00 pm, the roles will be reversed when he serves as the celebrity auctioneer for the 18th Annual Jerry Segal Classic at Green Valley Country Club.

09/28/2007 - Magee Launches Patient Education TV System
Magee Rehabilitation hospital recently launched its Patient Education Television Network. It is now accessible to all patients. Patient TVs and large-screen TVs in patient lounges are networked to receive this programming.

09/10/2007 - Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and Once Upon A Nation Partner to Hold Wheelchair Miniature Golf Event
The 1st Annual Magee-off Wheelchair Miniature Golf Event will be held September 10, at 2:00pm at the Philly Mini Golf at Franklin Square. Along with allowing participants, their families, and friends to play on the course at no cost, Once Upon A Nation - the organization that oversees Franklin Square (located at 6th&Race), is also supplying classic park refreshments such as hot dogs, soda, and ice cream.

When Diane Teofilak needed physical therapy after suffering a spinal cord injury last March, she arrived at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in the back of an ambulance. This time, she'll arrive on the back of her boyfriend's Harley Davidson.

08/10/2007 - Top athletes with disabilities to play in Philly Wheelchair tennis tourney, Aug. 10-12
The Mid-Atlantic Region's top wheelchair athletes will compete in the 2007 Philadelphia Wheelchair Tennis Tournament on Aug. 10-12 at the Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club. The club has donated use of its facility for the tournament and practice wheelchair tennis sessions each Sunday for more than 15 years.

Bill McAndrew, 3-11 General Rehab Nurse on the third floor at Magee, is spending his free time training for the triathlon in April 2007. Inspired by his cousin Nick, who is now in remission from leukemia, Bill volunteered for the Leukemia&Lymphoma Society last year and ran his first marathon with Team in Training.
