The Jefferson Health System, which includes Jefferson University Hospitals, Magee Rehabilition Hospital, and Main Line Health, has been named by Thomson Reuters as one of five of the highest performing health systems in the "large health systems" category.

The Thompson Reuters fourth annual 15 Top Health Systems study, recorded data from more than 300 organizations and narrowed the list down to 15 hospital systems which achieved exemplary outcomes based on a composite score of eight performance measures of care and efficiency patient perception.

"It is an honor to receive this ranking and recognition from one of the world's leading independent rating organizations," said Joseph Sebastianelli, president and CEO, Jefferson Health System. "Our ranking among other top health systems is a validation of how the thousands of employees and staff throughout our organization strive to provide world-class care to the communities we serve."

Thomson Reuters studied and combined data from 2009 to 2011 into system level data, which was then compared to 321 U.S. health systems. The rating based results using eight performance measures related to quality and efficiency of patient service and satisfaction.
