Magee Rehabilitation Hospital Chief Medical Officer Guy Fried, MD, local lawyer Harvey Kronfeld, Esq and GlaxoSmithKline, will be recognized for their contributions to healthcare at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital’s 23rd Annual Humanitarian Award Dinner, held on November 16 at 5:30 pm at the Four Seasons Hotel on the Ben Franklin Parkway.

The theme of this year’s dinner is “Heroes of Healthcare” and the honorees certainly fit that description.

Dr. Guy Fried has been treating patients at Magee for over 20 years. He is recognized often as a “Top Doc” by Philadelphia magazine and has distinguished himself as a care provider, teacher, mentor and role model. Dr. Fried consistently goes above and beyond to treat his patients at all hours of the day and night.

Harvey Kronfeld, Esq. was a spinal cord injury patient at Magee 23 years ago and has served on Magee’s Board of Trustees for over 10 years. Harvey is the Chair of the Hospital’s oversight committee, and has been a devoted financial supporter for over two decades. After dealing with serious medical challenges, though his hard work and the skill of his doctors, nurses and therapists, he regained his mobility and independence and was able to resume his professional and personal life.

GlaxoSmithKline has been a friend of Magee for years, as well as our neighbor with their Center City Headquarters just across the street from Magee’s main inpatient hospital. GlaxoSmithKline shares Magee’s goals of improving the life of individuals. Their work is not just done in our local community. It’s felt around the globe, where programs to serve those in need are a key part of their mission.
