On September 16, the Ethics Advisory Committee of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital will host two distinguished visitors from Japan: Dr. Yoshitaka Wada, a professor of law at Waseda University in Toyko, and Dr. Toshimi Nakanishi, an Ob-gyn and professor of medicine and bioethics at Yamagata University. Both are members of Japan’s Association of Healthcare Mediators and are leading Japanese bioethicists.

After touring the hospital at 16th and Race St., Dr. Wada and Dr. Nakanishi will give a presentation to Magee’s Ethics Advisory Committee.

Dr. Wada and Dr. Nakanishi will arrive at Magee at 2:00pm. The presentation will begin shortly after the tour.

Dr. Wada and Dr. Nakanishi are only speaking at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University on their visit to the United States.

Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, founded in 1958, is a 96-bed specialty medical rehabilitation hospital providing physical and cognitive rehabilitation services. Magee is authorized to treat wounded military personnel returning from war. Magee is not an Obligated Group Affiliate.
