Each month, the Health & Wellness Center at Magee Riverfront honors one of its clients as the “Wellness Triumph of the Month.” Today, meet John.
On July 12, 2017, John Sweeney had spinal decompression surgery to address stenosis of his thoracic spine. He participated in inpatient therapy at Magee’s main hospital. Upon discharge, he joined Magee’s Day Rehab program at the Riverfront, then joined the Health & Wellness Center in October 2017. In Wellness, John enjoys using the NuStep, standing frame, equalizer, UBE, and the RT-300 stim bike. John has been a practicing physical therapist for 36 years and even owned his own practice in Hatboro, PA. John attributes much of his success to the motivation he derives from his five children and his wife, who he jokingly refers to as “The Boss.”
