SoldierStrong Donation Aims to Help Local Veterans

This spring, Magee unveiled a brand new Ekso GT, a wearable robotic exoskeleton, made possible by SoldierStrong and generous donors. SoldierStrong is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to improve the lives of the men and the women of the United States Armed Forces.

The Ekso GT is a wearable robotic exoskeleton that enables individuals to stand up and walk over ground with a full weight bearing, reciprocal gait in a rehabilitation setting. The Ekso GT is the first and only robotic exoskeleton to be granted clearance for rehabilitation purposes both for use with patients who have had a stroke, as well as those with a spinal cord injury.

Donors Lucille and Jerry Francesco played a big part in making this possible. They provided a generous challenge donation to encourage others to give. When asked why they chose to support this gift to Magee, Lucille said, “After seeing a demo of the Ekso, we felt strongly that this needed to be available to assist many others. We hope this will fill a great need.”

Magee is committed to providing veterans with disabilities access to this new Ekso and our other highly innovative, technologically advanced robotic devices.
