HAP Presents 2015 Achievement Award to Team Magee

Earlier this month, Paula Bussard, Chief Strategy Officer at The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), visted Magee to present a 2015 Achievement Award. HAP received 110 applications, and the team representing Magee recieved one of only 12 awards!

The project titled “Innovations to Stop Pressure Ulcers Among Patients at Critically High Risk for Pressure Ulcer Development – A Multidisciplinary Approach” received the “In Safe Hands” Award. The project team includes: Amy Bratta (Spinal Cord Injury Therapy Manager), Deb Long (Clinical Resource Nurse), Dr. Chris Formal, MD, Evelyn Phillips (Clinical Nutrition Manager), Julie Rece (Wound, Ostomy, Continence Clinical Specialist), and Marci Ruediger (Director of Performance Excellence.)

In her presentation, Ms Bussard remarked, “It’s important to note that Magee Rehab is no stranger to these awards. This is your third Achievement Award in the past five years. Even with redefined categories for 2015, you still managed to earn an award AND provide your patients with an innovative, forward-thinking initiative to improve their care—and for that, we thank you.”

Congratulations to the entire team for their hard work in implementing this project, achieving this award, and making our patients safer!
