Amputees helping Amputees

Before your amputation:
  • Do you want to see an artificial limb?
  • Do you want to see how an amputee walks, sits, and gets around?
  • Do you have questions that can be answered only by someone who has been there?
  • Talking it out with another amputee can help to make your adjustment easier.

After your amputation:
  • Will I be able to walk?
  • Can I drive a car?
  • Will I dance?
  • Will I be able to work again?
Since 1980 AMP-Peers have been here to help.  Our peers can provide you with emotional support and practical information on everyday concerns.  AMP-Peers share their experiences and knowledge.  They are living proof that amputees can recover and continue to have active lives.

Matches can be made according to level, age, gender, social roles, and recreational interests.
